Meet our sweet friend Henry, the inspiration behind our Spring 2022 Pattern with a Purpose organization, The Bardet Biedl Syndrome Association. Henry is a joyful three year old boy that loves his big brothers, anything related to Daniel the Tiger, singing Happy Birthday, studying his shadow in the sunlight and shouting “ready, set, go!” while sliding down any and every slide. Henry brightens any room that he is in and is a very special part of the dear georgie family!
BBS, known formally as Bardet Biedl Syndrome, is a rare genetic disorder with highly variable symptoms that can include visual impairment, obesity and polydactyly (extra digits). BBS affects 1 out of every 250,000 people in the US. Although there is no cure for BBS, children with the syndrome greatly benefit from various therapies and early interventions.
The Bardet Biedl Syndrome Association connects families with research, support, information and therapies. For parents, the BBS Association is an invaluable tool as they navigate learning about the syndrome, finding local resources and creating a support community with other families.
Join Henry and his family to raise awareness for BBS and rare genetic disorders by following along on Instagram at happily_henry.
